D.C. FUNK PUNK THROWBACK JAM AT THE 930 CLUB

Celebrating the PUMP ME UP: The DC Subculture of the 1980s exhibit at the Corcoran Gallery and the release of the film THE LEGEND OF COOL "DISCO" DAN, the D.C. Funk Punk Throwback Jam was a concert event held on February 24, 2013, at the legendary Club 930. In the spirit of the 1980s' thriving music scene in D.C., the show paid tribute to the 1983 Funk Punk show, the last Minor Threat show where they opened for Go-Go legends Trouble Funk. Roger Gastman, Joseph Pattisall, Iley Brown, and the 930 Club organized the sold-out event and enlisted several bands to revive the memories and melodies of the local Go-Go and hardcore scenes. Trouble Funk, Scream, Junkyard, Static Disruptors, Youth Brigade, DJ Kool, Black Market Baby, Shady Groove, Worlds Collide (with special guest Stinky Dink), DJ Tommy B, DJ Scorpio, and others played a nostalgic night of music, hosted by D.C. native Henry Rollins.
