DRACULA

Vlad the Impaler was the ruler of Wallachia from 1456 - 1462 and member of the house Draculesti, also known by its patronymic name: Dracula. A fierce Christian warrior who helped stop Europe from becoming Muslim and being ruled by the Ottoman Turks, he is a folk hero in Romania and all other lands north of the Danube River. His nickname is derived from his cruel practice of impaling tens of thousands of his victims. His patronymic family name Dracula is the source for Bram Stoker's Count Dracula in his 1897 novel, Dracula. Roger Gastman was inspired to name his rescue dog after him and in the future, Roger will tour all of the Wallachia ruins in Eastern Europe with his infamous Impaler, the black Labrador of Los Feliz, Dracula.
